Today, Lady Gaga released her newest single ‘Do What You Want‘ featuring R. Kelly. While most talk has been about Lady Gaga and Zedd, ‘Do What You Want’ deserves just as much attention as it was produced by one of the rising stars of the dance music scene DJ Snake. DJ Snake has been getting critical attention with the release of his newest single ‘Turn Down The What‘ featuring Lil’ John and getting picked up for a national commercial for SOL speakers.
‘Do What You Want‘ is a masterful production. Featuring low, vibrating bass lines, a smooth drum progression and a synth progression helping power the track through the chorus, makes the track very pop for Lady Gaga, but still has a deep, dark feel the entire time. What is really special about this production is that DJ Snake crafted the song perfectly so that Lady Gaga and R. Kelly can both show their range and have their vocals compliment the production throughout the entire track. When listening to ‘Do What You Want’ it feels like DJ Snake was listening to the Drive soundtrack, as this production could be featured in that movie.
If you had to choose between Zedd and DJ Snake, I would give the upper hand to DJ Snake the entire time. ‘Do What You Want‘ is an incredible piece of work that really shows DJ Snake’s range. ‘Do What You Want‘ is out today ahead of her newest album, ARTPOP, available November 11th.

For 2013, Thomas Gold was one of the top producers in the game. He traveled around the world, playing at some of the biggest festivals, best nightclubs and enjoyed his biggest summer in Ibiza yet. He enjoyed performances on the main stage at Tomorrowland, stints at EDC New York and Las Vegas, as well as enjoyed a successful run on the Remember The Light Tour which saw stops at Nocturnal, LA, Florida, Boston and more.
Now, Thomas Gold is ready to follow up his Beatport #1 hit ‘Sing 2 Me‘ with his latest release on Axtone ‘Remember‘.
Remember‘ tells the story of a young couple in love, spending the night out together to experience a sunrise together. The track features an anthem of arpeggiated before building up and opening up to a burst of rise and falls in a break that expels excitement and energy. The smooth beauty from the first verse to the bounce of the break is an interesting combination that Thomas Gold seems to work out perfectly through his smooth transitions.
You can own your copy of ‘Remember‘ when it is released October 28th on Axtone Records.

It has been a busy week for the dance music scene. Amsterdam Music Festival was an exciting experience for all. But now, it is time to return back to reality. But what if that wasn’t possible? That is exactly what is depicted in the brand new music video for Calvin Harris and Alesso’s new music video ‘Under Control‘ featuring Theo from Hurts. The video depicts an end-of-the-world scenario and how people react to it. For Calvin Harris, Alesso and Theo, it means getting a stretch limo, picking up some beautiful women, and traveling to the middle of nowhere in LA to throw a massive party.
Under Control‘ is the first release for Calvin Harris since his album 18 Months was released. The track is scheduled for release on November 25th through Columbia Records. Calvin Harris will be playing a number of arena shows and festivals to close out the rest of the year, while Alesso has his Uprising Tour to keep him busy.
