Kanye West expresses interest in Ikea collaboration; Internet trolls him
Recently on Annie Mac’s Radio 1 show, Kanye West confessed that he had a burning desire to collaborate with Swedish interior design company IKEA.

In his usual modest way, he explained that students would relish in "a minimalist apartment inside of a college dorm" designed by West himself. "Yo IKEA, allow Kanye to create, allow him to make this thing because you know what, I want a bed that he makes, I want a chair that he makes – I want more products from Ye," he added.
Despite being "flattered by Kanye West's high interest," an IKEA representative told CNBC on Monday that they are not looking to "collaborate at this point in time."
Needless to say, that didn’t stop the internet trolls from getting in on the action. Some of the best memes are below.

Will someone please think of the children?

Kanye West fired off a series of tweet today calling for an end to the ‘beef’ between Apple Music and Tidal and pleading to the “let the kids have the music.” He also called for Apple to just “give Jay his check”.

The rant follows from recent news that Apple may be considering a purchase of Jay-Z’s Tidal streaming service. There have been no further rumours or news since the story appeared in the Wall Street Journal on June 30.
Tidal, branded as an artist-driven streaming platform, has exclusive rights to works by Beyonce, Prince’s catalogue, and Kanye West. Apple Music for its parts claims Taylor Swift and Drake and was also home to Chance The Rapper’s latest album for a few weeks before its wider release.

And we thought A$AP Rocky was going to make the most noise New Year’s Eve.

As 2014’s last hurrah approached, so did something equally powerful: Yeezy Season. Rumors swirled all day about a new track from West. With 25 minutes left to bid farewell to the ghastly year, our collective prayers were answered. First a leak and later an official release through West’s website, “Only One” floated down from hip-hop’s heavens and graced us mortals here on earth.

I am absolutely reaching for low-hanging fruit right now. Guilty. But the biased response by way of religious imagery is called for because the track is (1) fantastic and (2) at long last bridges two icons from disparate eras. Yes, that is living legend Paul McCartney stroking those organ keys in yet another victory for minimalism. Ty Dolla $ign apparently contributed here (the raw backing vocals that pop up now and again), which is a plus I guess.

This might be the most timeless piece of music to feature autotune since Kanye’s very own “Street Lights,” which fittingly lives on an album also inspired by West’s late mother, Donda. “Only One” harbors West’s most poignant songwriting to date, and we couldn’t be more excited to hear what he has in store.
Below is a picture of West and McCartney together, as well as the handwritten lyrics to “Only One,” shared on kanyewest.com. You can stream it there, or dish out $1.29 and buy it on iTunes.

Aussie droner Lawrence English‘s towering new tome will finally be dropping onto shelves next week, and you can hear it in full first right here.

Despite what people might try and tell you, this kind of music isn’t easy to produce. The nuance that makes a drone album bad or incredibly good is complicated and confusing, but Lawrence English has absolutely nailed it with Wilderness of Mirrors, his latest full length.

It’s probably because he’s been knee-deep in the scene for such a long time now – both as an artist and as the boss of the esteemed Room40 imprint, which itself is responsible for releases from Ben Frost, Grouper, John Chantler and more. Certainly, the album has a pacing that can only be attained with experience, and English allows his crushing tidal waves of noise and harmonic sound to rise and fall with either grace or knee-trembling power, depending on the mood.

Wilderness of Mirrors is set to drop on July 21, but before then you can now stream the album below.
