The latest instalment of First Word Records Excursions Radio series see’s DJ Gilla going back to his roots and repping Leeds. Each track features someone with links to Leeds and reveals what a rich and diverse music scene the town has cultivated over the years.
Personal highlights include Nightmares on Wax bonafide classic Nights Introlude, Kidkanevil’s Good Morning, What’s New? that pairs up KidK’s production wizardry with Andreya Triana’s velvet vocals, and Braintax’s Making Moves a track that demonstrate’s what a unique talent the Lowlife boss was. Before relocating to London, First Word schooled every one from Woodhouse to Hyde Park through to the city centre in good music.
