On Friday, October 25th, the Kompakt roadshow heads to London for our massive label showcase in cooperation with The Hydra, but rest assured that we'll also take the opportunity to check in with the good peepz from Boiler Room beforehand. After the immensely satisfying BR Berlin edition in September (featuring Wolfgang Voigt, COMA and Terranova), we are thrilled to bring Walls live, Blond:ish and Michael Mayer to Boiler Room London - as always, it's a strictly private event (starting at 3pm London time), but there are a few guestlist spaces left, so if you're interested in coming down before the big party starts please send an e-mail with "Kompakt Boiler Room" in the subject by 5pm Thursday (24th October) to boilerroom@electricminds.co.uk. Everyone else gets to watch amazing music from home for free... catch BR's live broadcast here. Also, there are still tickets available for our main event at Fire featuring Kölsch, Saschienne, Terranova, Robag Wruhme, Pachanga Boys and more - grab them here!

When jumping between parties at ADE last week, one could easily forget that there's more to this event than big DJs playing for enthused crowds - it's also a perfect opportunity for the alternative dance industry to get together and talk shop. One particularly interesting panel (from our point of view) was the one about "how to run a 21st century music label", featuring representatives from Kompakt, Ninja Tune, K7 and more discussing the rise of the DIY label ethos. Earlier this month, we saw the release of Extrawelt's latest concoction "The Inkling" on Traum Schallplatten, an incredibly powerful 3-track EP dropping some mighty saturnine bass. The title track is a perfect example of the duo's frequency-bending, in-your-face sound design and it's got a pretty cool video, too... watch it here and don't miss out on the EP's opening track "Breedle", whose video can be found here.

Terranova's infatuation with dogs is well-documented (as can be seen on the cover for the "Painkiller EP"), which makes Terranova's Fetisch and his faithful companion Rocco - a beautiful chocolate-colored labrador - just the perfect topic for Technokittens' "Pet Sounds" series, where they interview DJs about their pets. Sebastien Bouchet's "Fallen Angel" EP was released via Kompakt three years ago, but it still baffles its listeners with the emotion-bending, protean scope of its sound. The Berlin-based Frenchman prepares for another release with the Kompakt label family, but we're not yet ready to disclose any more details - let it be heard that again it's gonna be a very special record. In the meantime, we got a new mix from the romantic anarchist featuring some weird and beautiful cutting edge sounds from Kölsch, Red Axes (remixed by Rebolledo) and more. Get it here!

Famed compilation series Air Texture saw its third instalment last month and Air Texture III (curated by Deadbeat's Scott Monteith and DJ Olive) sounds just as satisfyingly out there as the volumes that came before it. Check out the album trailer created by Plot Point Productions which uses a montage of pretty iconic film clips, all shot from the same angle - "the back to the camera perspective normally used to reveal context and invite pause", as Electronic Beats puts it. It's an incredibly haunting affair sitting well with the release. Watch it here!
