DIRTYBIRD Campout Announces Complete Lineup for Inaugural
DIRTYBIRD has assembled an all star crew to guide their loyal campers for 3 days of campfire tales, lakeside s’mores, and late night dance-offs at Oak Canyon Park on October 2-4.
DIRTYBIRD fam favorites Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, J.Phlip, Kill Frenzy, Justin Jay, Christian Martin, Ardalan and Worthy will be joined by the likes of Daniel Bell, Breach, Lee Foss, Lunice, Laura Jones, Benoit & Sergio, Eprom, Nosaj Thing, Sonny Fodera, Mikey Lion, Billy Kenny, and many more.
Oak Canyon Park will provide the perfect setting for lakeside shenanigans under the close guidance of your camp counselors Claude VonStroke and Justin Martin. This woody venue played host to Lightning in a Bottle from 2010 – 2012.
DIRTYBIRD will be teaming up with pioneering festival creatives, The Do LaB, to bring their world renowned creative expertise and production experience to Campout.
DIRTYBIRD celebrates ten years of booty-shaking house music in 2015, repping a distinct sound and good times mantra that has become a staple on dancefloors around the world. In the last two years, DIRTYBIRD has been curating and hosting stages at major festivals like HARD, TomorrowWorld and Electric Zoo, while launching their own nationwide BBQ party series. The inaugural DIRTYBIRD Campout should be a raucous extension of the California crew’s inimitable vibes.
Tickets on-sale here on July 23rd at 10am.
SoundCloud confirms paid subscription service on the way
SoundCloud has confirmed rumours of a forthcoming subscription service.
The streaming platform’s plan for monetization has been the subject of industry-wide speculation for months, particularly after Sony started pulling its tracks from SoundCloud. A leaked contract last month hinted at a new tiered listening system, and now SoundCloud chief technology officer Eric Wahlforss has confirmed plans to launch a paid subscription service later on in 2015, according to Tech Times. Details are scarce, but the first tier would allow listeners to explore SoundCloud ad-free and download a limited number of files, while the second tier would provide unfettered access to the entire catalogue.

ROOM8 Releases New Jam, “This Place Again” featuring Polina
ROOM8, the LA-based two-man troupe made up of producers Ezra Reich and Nic Johns, are slowly but surely serving up what promises to be one of the year’s most promising electropop EPs, due to be released in the fall.
After dropping “No Hard Feelings,” their lush no-strings break-up anthem with NYC-based singer-songwriter King Deco, the dance-pop duo returns this month with the second track off the upcoming EP: “This Place Again.”
The throbbing, ’80s-leaning club cut — which sort of sounds like a wistful Annie or Kleerup jam — features vocals from Russian-bred singer-songwriter Polina, the talented artist responsible for co-penning Sean Kingston‘s “Party All Night (Sleep All Day)” and Eminem‘s Marshall Mathers LP 2 cut “Legacy.”
“We’re in this place again / I thought that I could close the door / It only made me want it more,” the singer croons across the twinkling, nostalgic synth pulse. Consider this one firmly stuck on repeat — much like that unshakable love affair.
Royal’s Cycles EP Remixed Features Jai Wolf, Hotel Garuda & More
Earlier this week Octal Sound released the Cycles Remix EP featuring four new awesome official edits of two Royal original by Hotel Garuda, Jai Wolf, Lazerdisk x Dreambeach and Catt Moop. The group re-worked “Passenger” and “Round Two,” the singles that gained the most traction off of the EP, and put their own flair on them by lacing their versions with Deep House, Future Bass and a combination of more sub-genres to make the remixes their own. This project is well worth the listen, check it out now below and have a great weekend! Enjoy.
