Here's a genuine buzzworthy selection to add to your ever-expanding summer playlist. Comprised of globe-trotting, Grammy nominated DJ producer Adam Freeland, Californian polymath Steve Nalepa, and Aussie artist, LA-residing Ry X, The Acid delivers a stunning debut album Liminal that drops next week on July 15th. As the back-story goes, Freeland and X bumped into each other at a mutual friend's party in Los Angeles last year. They hit it off, as like-minded musicians often do, decided to collaborate together, and Freeland enlisted his pal Nalepa to add to the mix. It must have been kismet because the result, on stark, standout moment like "Fame" and "Animal," is truly captivating.

This week, we've got German house duo Booka Shade (aka Walter Merziger and Arno Kammermeier) who are recognized veterans within the Frankfurt electronic scene. Over the past decade, they've released five LPs including their most recent album 2013's Eve featuring standout singles like "Love Inc" and "Crossing Borders" among others. When they're not endlessly recording and touring the world, they help manage their very own Get Physical imprint alongside musical compatriots DJ T. and M.A.N.D.Y. Ready to make your mark in our latest Play remix competition? Now's the right time to rework Booka Shade's haunting tech-house fantasy "Love Drug" featuring singer Fritz Helder.

Barcelona, at the moment, has a pulsating underground electronic music scene. Maybe it's the gorgeous weather. Maybe it's the vibrant Spanish culture and their historic city. Maybe it's their creative, collaborative spirit. More likely, it's a loose combination of sorts. Regardless, as you'll see, it's a particularly wonderful time to be there. In a new seven-minute mini-doc called Made In Barcelona, Red Bull Music Academy investigates a few of the Catalan capital's key musical institutions including John Talabot's Hivern Discs (launched in 2008), the Piknic Electronik festival, and the Sónar festival, as well as the Spanish artists, producers, and DJs that make the city's heart beat strong.
