On October 18 and 19, Eric Prydz will be taking over Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan to show the US what his 3D hologram based show, EPIC, looks like. This is the first time that EPIC will be performed outside of the UK and only the fourth and fifth performances of EPIC ever. That’s right; we said ever. These shows are going to be a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience (forgive the fact that you can see it more than once). EPIC 2.0 is going to be jaw-droppingly immersive, with high-resolution LED parts, lasers and of course, Eric Prydz’s new music which he has been working on specifically for this show. They are the culmination of two years’ worth of work between he and the creative and technical designers of EPIC 2.0, Immersive Ltd. For those who are lucky enough to see these shows, they will never see something like it again, as the show gets redesigned after each tour. They will not be like the ones done in the UK; they are their own, standalone productions and won’t be seen again after they’re done. The best part? Expect Prydz, Pryda and Cirez D to show up. EPIC 2.0 will travel through Eric’s many aliases and tell an incredible story with his music, combined with the incredible 3D visuals and lasers. Here’s what Eric has to say about it: When I DJ I try and take people on a journey. I like an environment that's stripped down, and allows the music to speak for itself. EPIC is something else, we're expanding the narrative – it's a concert show. With the holograms, the lasers and the visuals, I am able to tell a story on many different levels. It's taken us two years to get to this point, EPIC has been evolving and changing, as we work to improve the fan experience, and deepen the ties between the music and the visuals. EPIC is a one-time show, after this run we will sit down and it will change again. Once you've seen it, it will be gone. – Eric PrydzFor a little taste of what to expect, check out the teaser video Eric released in August announcing this EPIC tour, which can be found below the venue and ticket information. Hammerstein Ballroom 311 W 34th St New York, NY 10001 (212) 279-7740 8:00pm Unfortunately, tickets are sold out. We hope you got yours or can find someone willing to part with theirs. |

It is finally Octopher. So you know what that means? All treats and no tricks! That is right. Because in the month of Octopher, every day is a celebration. Last week, Topher Jones gave us a free download of his freemix of Paramore’s ‘Still Into You‘. Now, Topher wants you to celebrate with another free track. This time, Topher Jones is giving away a free download of his track ‘Knockout‘. The track is a 6-minute long musical journey accompanied by an incredible artwork featuring the signature Topher Jones face on the old Nintendo game Punch-Out Mike Tyson. ‘Knockout‘ showcases a music side of Topher Jones not experienced by many, as the track showcases an incredible combination of distorted electro house and groovy house music. Topher Jones has utilized a powerful bass topline that powers the song and layered it with the drum progression that makes you want to get up, and dance, and adds that incredible house sound and flair to ‘Knockout‘. Octopher has only just begun so don’t stop the celebration now. Get your free download of Topher Jones ‘Knockout‘ today and keep tuned to Mixjunkies for more Octopher celebrations. |

With the recent boom in the 140 trance scene, there have been few names that have really stood out. Arctic Moon and Bryan Kearney are two of them. Their incredible melodic rhythms and pure intensity have made them fan favorites. Now, the pair have teamed up for one incredible track set for release October 14th. ‘Dreamers & Dreams‘ will be released through Aly & Fila’s Future Sound of Egypt imprint on Armada Music. Just last month, Arctic Moon released his latest single ‘Valhala‘ on FSOE, and also collaborated on the track ‘Daydreaming‘ with Aly & Fila for their Quiet Storm album. Just this week, Bryan Kearney released his remix of M.I.K.E. & Fred Baker’s ‘Never Ending‘. In their new combination, ‘Dreamers & Dreams‘ opens up with an exciting old-school, industrial trance sound. The pounding rhythms and euphoric beats give way to a beautiful string progression before opening back up to a slow buildup of intense synths and majestic top lines that power this song and brings the listener into a dream like state. What Arctic Moon and Bryan Kearney have created is what trance should be. They have brought the old-school original dance music sound that used to be played in the warehouses and abandoned residencies and reinstated it for a new age. ‘Dreamers & Dreams‘ will change the way that people see trance music all together. Make sure to get your copy when it is released Monday, October 14th. |
