Kindergarten Records Announce First Release Of New Three-Part “Spirit Animal” Concept Posted: 06 Feb 2014 06:22 PM PST Labels are always trying to come up with new and innovative ways for people to get in touch with the music being released on the label, and to actually go out and buy them. But with this brand new concept from Kindergarten Records, it seems they have come up with one of the cleverest concepts yet. Being released on February 17th is the first, in a 3-part “Spirit Animal” concept series. Each single will be represented visually by a different cosmic, mysterious animal, depicted in the chart below. The first single, Popeska ft. Denny White’s ‘Heart of Glass‘, is represented by a blue, magical horse. The other 2 animals are a giraffe and an owl, but we cannot see the description of them yet.

Porter Robinson Talks New LP, Taking A Break From DJing In Interview With Billboard Posted: 21 Nov 2013 02:57 PM PST On November 14th, Porter Robinson announced his brand new deal with label Astralwerks, in which he will be releasing his brand new LP, expected in early 2014. The North Carolina native has been known primarily as a DJ, rather than as a producer. Porter Robinson wants that to chance. In a recent interview with Billboard, Porter sat down to talk about his future as a DJ and how he wants to change the perception around him and music. He first opens up by saying that he will be taking a backseat from being just a DJ, and instead focus on a new live show experience. Obviously I can't continue doing the normal DJ thing, at least as my main thing. That doesn't ever preclude me DJing again. Just knowing myself, I could see myself doing this live show and just being like, 'Man, how fun was it back when I used to like, bang it out or whatever.' It feels weird for me to say that now because I don't feel that at all. I could see myself doing after-parties or maybe a side tour. A lot of bands have their DJ set. That's something that I'm certainly going to be open to.

Preview: Eric Prydz – EPIC Tour 2.0 at Hammerstein Ballroom 10-18 and 10-19-2013 Posted: 08 Oct 2013 07:39 PM PDT On October 18 and 19, Eric Prydz will be taking over Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan to show the US what his 3D hologram based show, EPIC, looks like. This is the first time that EPIC will be performed outside of the UK and only the fourth and fifth performances of EPIC ever. That’s right; we said ever. These shows are going to be a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience (forgive the fact that you can see it more than once). EPIC 2.0 is going to be jaw-droppingly immersive, with high-resolution LED parts, lasers and of course, Eric Prydz’s new music which he has been working on specifically for this show. They are the culmination of two years’ worth of work between he and the creative and technical designers of EPIC 2.0, Immersive Ltd. For those who are lucky enough to see these shows, they will never see something like it again, as the show gets redesigned after each tour. They will not be like the ones done in the UK; they are their own, standalone productions and won’t be seen again after they’re done. The best part? Expect Prydz, Pryda and Cirez D to show up. EPIC 2.0 will travel through Eric’s many aliases and tell an incredible story with his music, combined with the incredible 3D visuals and lasers. Here’s what Eric has to say about it:
