Out today is a new track for free download from our pals, SikDuo, called Take Em Up. This new track sticks to SikDuo’s roots in house and hip-hop, featuring a classic Onyx sample with a huge festival-style drop and big room electrohouse beats and melodic synth chords. Recently, SikDuo released another new track, Bring That Beat Back that we featured on the site a few weeks ago with an exclusive interview that you can check out here. Chris Moody and DJ Riz keep bringing banger after banger, so make sure you keep an eye out for these two; we have a feeling we all will be seeing a lot more of SikDuo in 2014.
On November 14th, Porter Robinson announced his brand new deal with label Astralwerks, in which he will be releasing his brand new LP, expected in early 2014. The North Carolina native has been known primarily as a DJ, rather than as a producer. Porter Robinson wants that to chance. In a recent interview with Billboard, Porter sat down to talk about his future as a DJ and how he wants to change the perception around him and music. He first opens up by saying that he will be taking a backseat from being just a DJ, and instead focus on a new live show experience.
Obviously I can't continue doing the normal DJ thing, at least as my main thing. That doesn't ever preclude me DJing again. Just knowing myself, I could see myself doing this live show and just being like, 'Man, how fun was it back when I used to like, bang it out or whatever.' It feels weird for me to say that now because I don't feel that at all. I could see myself doing after-parties or maybe a side tour. A lot of bands have their DJ set. That's something that I'm certainly going to be open to.
Life In Color is the worlds biggest paint party. Bringing in the biggest names in dance music to events all over the world, people show up in pure white, and leave in a multi-color neon explosion. But now, Life In Color has announced that their show in Los Angeles had to be cancelled. Set to take place on November 9th at the Shrine Auditorium, Life In Color was forced to cancel the show after the Shrine had a problem with the paint issue and no other venue could handle the Life In Color production. Read the statement below issued on the Life In Color Facebook page.
LOS ANGELES ANNOUNCEMENT-
Due to logistical issues related to the paint element of the show, the Shrine management regrets that it has to cancel the November 9th LA Life In Color event. Our team reviewed all possible options to relocate the show to another venue in the greater Los Angeles area, but none proved capable to handle the LIC production our fans expected at this time. All tickets will be fully refunded at the point of sale. We apologize to our devoted Life In Color fans and hope you will join us at a new LA location in 2014.
We always have a good time when we talk to Sean Tyas. The man is one of a kind. His music production of late has been top-notch as well. So when we found out that Sean was teaming up with Noah Neiman and Fisher on a track, we were ecstatic. Now, that we heard the track, we were right on point.
Every year, Markus Schulz pays homage to an incredible city with a new mix compilation. It started in 2011 with Prague ’11. 2012 saw the next installment with Los Angeles ’12. Now, with 2013 slowly coming to an end, Markus Schulz is set to release the latest in the series, named after one of South America’s musical hot spots.
Buenos Aires ’13 was released on October 4th off Armada. Markus Schulz decided to choose Buenos Aires for the connection that he has with the city and the people. Markus and the fans weathered the elements during his set at UMF Buenos Aires. He celebrated the cities bicentennial with a massive performance for the people. He performed an unprecedented 15-hour set at Mandarine Nightclub, showcasing what makes him one of the most sought after DJs in the world.

Tomorrow night, tens of thousands of fans will descend upon San Bernadino, CA for Insomniac Events annual fall time festival, Nocturnal Wonderland. Always held as the Nos Event Center, Insomniac has found a new home for its festivals in the area at the San Manuel Amphitheater.
If there was any DJ Show that started the wave of podcasts and radio shows it would have to be Armin van Buuren's A State of Trance. Every week Armin gives us 2 hours of amazing up and coming trance tunes as well as remixes and classics. If your a trance lover ASOT is a staple listen. Plug in.
Already having previewed his track ‘Last Chance‘ with Project 46 and ‘SFO To ORD‘ off of his new album, Atmosphere, Kaskade treats us to yet another teaser with the preview of ‘MIA To LAS‘. Like the other airport entitled track already previewed, Kaskade skips the drops and the bass, to instead focus on the beats and the rhythm creating an incredible house track. It creates anticipations and excitement for what style and production Kaskade has in store for us with Atmosphere. It seems to be an incredible mixture of melodic progressive and groovy house music. It is great to see someone standing away from the mainstream “epic” sound and doing something else. Just a few more days to wait, as Atmosphere drops on September 10th.
