Out today is a new track for free download from our pals, SikDuo, called Take Em Up. This new track sticks to SikDuo’s roots in house and hip-hop, featuring a classic Onyx sample with a huge festival-style drop and big room electrohouse beats and melodic synth chords. Recently, SikDuo released another new track, Bring That Beat Back that we featured on the site a few weeks ago with an exclusive interview that you can check out here. Chris Moody and DJ Riz keep bringing banger after banger, so make sure you keep an eye out for these two; we have a feeling we all will be seeing a lot more of SikDuo in 2014. |
The Economic Impact Of EDC Las Vegas

Everyone knows that when you travel to Las Vegas, you plan on spending a lot of money on hotels, food, and gambling. But when over 345,000 people descend upon on city for 3 days, what kind of economic impact can that have on a location. Well, Insomniac Events have released the official numbers of how much this rave community help stimulate Las Vegas, and the numbers are staggering. This year, Electric Daisy Carnival bumped an estimated $278 million into the Clark County Economy. Since moving to Las Vegas in 2011, Insomniac has helped generate more than $621 million for the Las Vegas economy. The study, commissioned by Insomniac and performed by Beacon Economics, LLC, revealed that the third annual event generated $136.9 million in attendee spending, a 38 percent increase from the 2012 event. Nearly 95 percent of attendees traveled from outside the Las Vegas area for the event, accounting for an estimated 92,000 hotel room nights alone, generating $25 million in accommodations. Additionally, fans spent more than $45 million on food and beverage, $22.1 million in transportation, $19.6 million in gaming, $13.1 million in entertainment and $11.8 million on retail spending. Ticket sales also indicate that patrons traveled to EDC from all 50 states, as well as 48 international countries. The festival created an estimated $17.4 million in tax revenue for state and local government. EDC Las Vegas' overall economic output is the equivalent of 2,686 full-time jobs and increased labor income by $113.8 million for workers in Clark County. Each year our goal with EDC Las Vegas is to improve the fan experience and I'm so happy that, as we continue to improve and grow, that Clark County continues to benefit too. The Insomniac family and our fans have truly embraced Las Vegas as our home during EDC Week in the City, and the idea that the fans get to have fun while also creating hundreds of millions of dollars for the local economy is truly a win-win situation. We're already looking forward to returning in 2014. – Pasquale Rotella |

Fresh off the heels of his Hounds of Hell tour with Tommmy Trash, Wolfgang Gartner prepares to release his newest single ‘Piranha‘ for the masses to devour up. A staple in his set while on tour, Wolf Gartner will now unleash it unto the public through his Kindergarten Records. ‘Piranha‘ is an uplifting, melodic tune that leads into the signature Wolfgang electro house drop that has become a signature sound for him amongst his legions of fans. Of course, watching the video above won’t give you a real hint of that. Wolfgang Gartner released this short preview that doesn’t showcase the song too much, but it is a pretty awesome video. Either way, get ready to attack as Wolfgang Gartner will release ‘Piranha‘ on December 17th. |

This summer, right after EDC, Pretty Lights released his critically acclaimed album, A Color Map of the Sun. For free download off his website, the album drove fans with excitement with this new blend of glitch-hop, funk, jazz, and old 80s hip-hop. He has spent all year touring with his live band performing many memorable tracks off of the album, and even hosting his first live Pay-Per-View event a couple days ago. But now, Pretty Lights has upgraded the sound of his album. On December 10th, Pretty Lights will be making available as a FREE DOWNLOAD off of his website, A Color Map of the Sun Remixes. The official Pretty Lights remix album featuring 16 remixes of tracks off of his album. Pretty Lights had some of the top dogs come in and give their interpretation to his tracks including 12th Planet, Datsik, GRiZ, and Blood Diamonds. He also gave some fresh up-and-comers the chance to showcase what they could do, such as a smooth glitchy-hop remix of ‘Done Wrong‘ by Opiuo, or the drum heavy, dubstep version of ‘Where I’m Trying To Go‘ by Marvel Years.
