Deadmau5, Mat Zo and More React to Aphex Twin’s Grammys Win (and No-Show) Posted: 08 Feb 2015 03:03 PM PST Perhaps the most surprisingly entertaining moment of tonight’s 2015 Grammys pre-telecast involved Gloria Gaynor and one Richard D. James, otherwise known as Aphex Twin. Tasked with presenting the trophy for ‘Best Dance Album’, Gaynor opened the envelope to find Syro slotted inside. As the orchestra swelled into life, and the presenter looked around expectantly for the winner, it quickly became clear there’d be no triumphant speech from electronic music’s number one oddball. (What we would’ve given to see that, though.) This year’s ‘Best Dance Album’ nominees found Syro was in unusually diverse company. In addition to Little Dragon’s Nabuma Rubberband and Robyn & Royksopp’s collaborative Do It Again, the nominees included Deadmau5’s double-album While (1<2) and Mat Zo’s Damage Control. Both producers swiftly took to Twitter after Aphex Twin’s win to congratulate the trailblazer – with Zo even expressing relief his LP didn’t win. He also took the opportunity to shout out Porter Robinson’s ambitious debut album, Worlds, which didn’t make the list of 2015 nominees. Stay tuned for more coverage from the 2015 Grammys. Pendulum Set To Hit The Road On North American DJ Tour Posted: 11 Oct 2013 02:08 PM PDT The dance music community erupted in cheers and screams of excitement when Rob Swire announced that Pendulum would be reuniting to create a new album for 2014. He also stated that it didn’t mean the group would be getting back together to perform or do any touring. Well now we know that, that is in fact not the case. Pendulum has announced the lineup for their fall 2013 North American Tour. Pendulum will be hitting the road for 7 dates in the US and 1 date in Canada, for a legendary DJ set. Stops on the tour include Tallahassee, San Francisco, New York and Denver. Pendulum will also be pulling out all the ropes as the group will be stopping at Insomniac Events‘ Escape From Wonderland. It has been a while since we have heard from Pendulum. Pandemonium is going to take place at all these dates as fans are going to be experiencing something unique and special. There will be 7 stages scattered around the festival grounds, each one having a different each day, except for Main Stage, Q-Dance, and Kitsune. Stages located on the coast, along the tree line, in the forest and everywhere else the eye can imagine, it is going to be difficult where to go because you will just get lost in the beauty of it all. TomorrowWorld will feature many amenities as well including a Belgian Beer Garden, post office, cell phone charging station, book store and more. TomorrowWorld has also laid out the plans for Dreamville, the on-site camping area. With five different sections coordinated by colors, fans are in for the time of their lives.
