Welcome to our weekly Saturday column called The Vinyl Cut. This time out, we've popped into San Francisco tastemaker shop Vinyl Dreams to get their staff picks on the top five vinyl releases that are flying off their shelves.

1. Tempelhof & Gigi Masin — Hoshi

Fantastic ambient and downbeat on this collaboration between Italian electronic duo Tempelhof and their fellow countryman, composer/musician Gigi Masin. Masin has been getting a major reappraisal lately, after a career retrospective from hip label Music From Memory and a recent Sven Weisemann remix. Hoshi is electro-acoustic in the best way possible and has been on rotation nonstop in the shop.
2. Jose Padilla — “Solito”

Perhaps best known as resident DJ at Ibiza’s historic Cafe Del Mar, Jose Padilla finally finds a home with Balearic stalwarts International Feel. Epic slo-mo synthscapes abound with the title track, and the Bubble Club remix makes things even spacier. It’s worth mentioning that the vinyl version of this release is in two parts, with a second 12″ featuring remixes by Dusseldorf-based trio Wolf Müller who add languorous percussion for a super-funky jam.
3. Various — Scorpion EP

Introducing the second release from enigmatic new electronic label End Of Level Boss. EOLB is a collaboration between the incredible vinyl-only Tusk Wax label and Cyclonix, inspired by the bridge that exists between video games and electronic music. The four tracks here are all off-message house and techno, with Robert B’s “Unknownism” a current favorite in the shop. Ones to watch!
4. Max Graef & Mic Newman presents Real Dubz
Young Berliner Max Graef and Melbourne’s Mic Newman (aka Fantastic Man) are must-buy names round Vinyl Dreams way. This release for the popular Love Fever imprint is no exception! Is it Deep House? Disco? Banging Chicago? No one cares with tunes this good. Turn these jams up and get a serious groove on.
5. Blue Soul — “Sinister Ana” / “The Menacing”
Our homies and neighbors at Roam Recordings have dropped one of their finest singles to date. Fellow San Franciscan Blue Soul take a left turn into some darker territory with a slow-n-low tempo and eerie John Carpenter synths. “Sinister Ana” is the cut Andrew Weatherall should be playing, while “The Menacing” is just that, a dissonant, off-kilter groove that will twist up the floor.
