This weekend, favourite French band Phoenix performed a one-hour televised set on Austin City Limits .
The synth-heavy rockers have been playing together for more than 15 years, but it was their 2009 album, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, that flew them into the spotlight with unforgettable hits such as “1901,” which has appeared everywhere from PlayStation ads to Super Bowl montages, and landed the self-effacing group a Grammy.
This year the band released their hotly anticipated followup, Bankrupt!, which features everything from slow-burning anthems to edgy rockers, and mixes influences from Asia, Africa and the Middle East. Phoenix's Austin City Limits performance begins with their hit, "Entertainment."
