This young Norwegian producer first caught our ears last year with a clutch of killer edits and the excellent ‘Mirror Maru EP’, the latter remaining firmly wedged in Gilles’ record box and radio playlists right up to today. In anticipation of Steve McQueen’s new film – 12 Years a Slave, the hotly tipped Oscar nomination, won the People’s Choice award at Toronto film festival last month. So we thought we’d share a little archive nugget from Gilles’ interview at Radio 1 back in 2012 with one of the UK’s most talented directors. The film is out on Friday 18th Oct.
