Bonafide Magazine @ MSN: Introducing: Mr. Mitch |

There has been no shortage of new producers riding the wave of grime’s resurgence in the past couple of years. Thanks largely to Elijah and Skilliam‘s pioneering Butterz label, it has promoted young bucks such as Champion, Royal-T and Swindle to the spotlight, and has duly laid the foundations for fellow producers such as Visionist, Kahn & Neek, Wen and Slackk to make a name for themselves. But with a number of these fresh faced producers descending into petty arguments over the past few weeks through Twitter and war dubs, it is somewhat refreshing to see that south Londoner Mr. Mitch, one of the gentler new breed, has kept his profile low, and has instead chosen to release a new EP, Suave, through Run Music.
Releasing free album Seaching Vol. 1: Venus on his Bandcamp that used love and relationships as its cornerstone theme, Mitch was also featured on A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold Records compilations as well as Big Dada’s recent Grime 2.0 which included established names such as Spooky, Wiley and Darq E Freaker. As well as helming his own Gobstopper label, Mitch also co-runs the Rinse FM-endorsed instrumental night, Boxed, where the MC-free music policy is simply ‘no bars, just beats’. You can stream the Suave EP below, which touches on everything from R’n'B, trap and hip-hop. |
