NERO Announce 20 Date North American Tour

f3590c9c-28d1-4a17-aec3-2d1cddfff0f5

Grammy Award-winning, Ivor Novello-nominated trio NERO today announce a 20 stop North American tour that will take the band coast to coast across much of the United States and into Canada. The tour will see the band showcase their highly anticipated sophomore album, Between II Worlds, as they build on their headlining performances at Coachella Music Festival and Lollapalooza earlier this year.

NERO will take their live performance to key stops like Denver’s Safe In Sound Festival, Austin City Limits Festival, Boston’s House of Blues, a secret warehouse location in NYC, Washington DC’s Echostage, San Francisco’s Warfield Theatre, as well as a soon to be announced Southern California stop.

Between II Worlds is an album of evolution, that celebrates a sense of love among the ruins, and cements NERO’s reputation as one of Britain’s most exciting bands. It both follows NERO’s collaboration with Baz Luhrman on The Great Gatsby, and complements their 2012 chart topping album Welcome Reality (and attendant hits ‘Me & You,’ ‘Guilt’ and the Platinum smash ‘Promises’) while pushing the band’s sound further than ever before.

Early cuts from the new album ‘’Satisfy,’ ‘Dark Skies,’ ‘The Thrill’ ‘Two Minds’, and ‘Between II Worlds’ have offered a tantalising glimpse of what’s to come, while earning critical acclaim from the likes of Rolling Stone, The Fader, Billboard, Nylon, Flaunt and more.

Between II Worlds began life three years ago in the Hollywood Hills house where Orson Welles wrote Citizen Kane, and was completed in London during the spring of 2015. It sees NERO emerge into a fully fledged live band, with Alana Watson front and center, alongside Daniel Stephens and Joe Ray.

Alana’s often fragile vocals provide a brilliantly hypnotic foil to Dan and Joe’s uncompromising, hard-edged production, informed by an enigmatic retro-futuristic ideology with nods to Ridley Scott’s vision of a decrepit future in Blade Runner, that runs through the band’s entire identity.

Fans who pre-order the album will receive album tracks ‘Satisfy,’ ‘Dark Skies,’ and ‘Between II Worlds’ instantly.

Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival Announces 2015 Dates

f6221a3f-bca7-4599-bdd9-786f86fe9b55

Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival (BEMF) today announced it will return for its eighth edition November 6th and 7th. BEMF will again curate and host some of the most bleeding edge emerging live and DJ talent, alongside industry pioneers and icons, across multiple venues in Williamsburg.

Over the last eight years nightlife in NYC has migrated East, with Brooklyn becoming the epicenter of the storied city’s electronic music culture, and a true focal point for an entire spectrum of creative enterprises.

From showcases with seminal tastemakers like Fade to Mind, White Materials, and DJ Kicks, or exposing rising talents such as Route 94, Nicolas Jaar, and The Black Madonna since its inception, BEMF has provided a snapshot into the vibrant electronic music scene that has pervaded the borough, as well as a platform for its expression.

In addition to its musical programming, BEMF has sought to provide a forum for meaningful discussion on the issues facing the industry and today’s artists and labels, and will again team up with THUMP to host a free panel daytime series tackling these topics with the help of industry leaders alongside the festival’s talent for candid fireside chats.

In 2014, BEMF presented shows at over 10 venues in Williamsburg, playing host to 60+ artists and more than 30 events. 2015 will see BEMF further expand its programming while continuing to spotlight the very best of electronic music from niche sounds to established genres.

BEMF programming extends beyond the full on 2 day festival experience with pre-parties on 11/5, a slew of after-hours events, and a single day ticket offering for those interested in diving in for a night of adventure.

Limited early bird tickets are on sale now for $80– which provides access to all events, panels, pre parties and after parties. One night passes will also be available. Buy tickets here.

Brand New Blond:ish Album On Its Way From Kompakt

blondishalbum

Barcelona-based duo Blond:ish are ready to show us what they’re made of with their upcoming debut album ‘Welcome To The Present’.

Kompakt is giving the album its backing, having boasted releases from the likes of Patrick Topping, Andhim, &ME, Kolsch and Terranova in the past. The renowned Cologne-based record label also released Blond:ish’s ‘Lovers In Limbo’ EP back in 2012 when the duo broke onto the scene.

This latest offering is set to show off their experimental side, as Anstascia D’Elene and Vivie-Ann Bakos have reportedly taken influence from psychedelic and Eastern music.

‘Welcome To The Present’ is hitting shelves October 23 via Kompakt, have a taster below.
