Shigeto announces Intermission EP
Shigeto will drop Intermission, his first solo release since 2013, in October.
Michigan native Zach Saginaw has been carving out a niche for himself in the Ghostly roster since 2010, establishing a sound that draws from his experience as a drummer touching on jazz, hip-hop and house. Intermission is his first release for the label in a while, though he’s been busy doing other things, including forming the High Risk jazz quartet, which dropped an album earlier this year.
As the title implies, Intermission is meant to be a stopgap of sorts before the next Shigeto album, described by the man himself as pointing “to the past, present and future.”
“I haven’t found the next step for me yet. I’ve been making loads of music as always, but I’m still looking for that concrete new path,” he says. “[These tracks] are not meant as a strong message but more of a taste, like a halftime show of sorts.”
