Property of Gotta Dance Dirty
As an attendee of every Splash House function since the events inception, it’s amazing to witness the progression. What began as a laidback pool hopper’s paradise for disco and house music has turned into a mecca for a much wider spectrum of the electronic music scene. With a festival scene saturated with big room sound, wild crowds and limited personal space, Splash House continues to prove its ranking as one of the top Summer destinations.
One of my favorite features of the function is the balcony decoration contest that’s become a staple at The Saguaro, the festival’s flagship venue. It offers an element of customization to your party experience, and is a really fun way to bond with other attendees. Shout out to this homeboy with the blowup dolls, party on.
The Hard Rock pool gives you a bit more room to move around then the party-cental Saguaro pool. The upscale venue has been home to sets from Flume, Moby, and an indescribably awesome collection of performers over the past couple of years. They originally held the afterparties in the lobby of the hotel, but capacity quickly became a bit of a bitch. Their latest crack at the afterparty puzzle was arguably the best to date at the PS Air Museum, which featured sets from Two Shoes, Kittens, Wax Motif and more.
The addition of the Hilton to the August hotel circuit was much appreciated by all. Its close proximity to the Hard Rock made the transportation missions much more agreeable to my birkenstock laden feet. With this move they also patched up the only identifiable hole I ever saw in the festival, which was the Hacienda Beach Club. Needless to say, Splash House continues to out-do itself year over year, and I feel privileged to be apart of it. Cheers lads, until next year.
