When a label as forward-thinking as Hyperdub reaches its 10th birthday, it's reason to celebrate. Having said that, you could probably argue that the first compilation put out to honour said anniversary Hyperdub 10.1 lacked a degree of party spirit: sure, it may have expertly summed up the label's claustrophobic soundscapes, but it hardly made for a fun pass-the-parcel soundtrack. This follow up is an attempt to remind fans that Hyperdub is no stranger to the pop song even if the pop songs on offer here are suitably warped to fit the label's general aesthetic. Jessy Lanza's featherlight new track You And Me and guest appearances by Eska and Ghostface Killa on Morgan Zarate's Sticks and Stones both showcase how soulful Hyperdub releases can be. One particular party highlight is Ikonika's I Know (That U Are the 1), a reworking of her Aerotropolis track Mr Cake, in which Dam-Funk lends vocals to the original's Day-Glo synths in true celebratory style.
