When Axel Willner came up with plans for a new The Field album, he was pretty adamant about not going through the same promotional treadmill that he had been with his critically lauded third longplayer "Looping State Of Mind". The long touring put a strain on him, as did everyday's life: "just the normal personal drama that everyone has in their lives. Nothing bigger than that. But (those emotions) can really fuck you over from time to time." All the more awesome then, that XLR8R was able to lure the volatile producer in front of their recording devices for an intimate interview about "Cupid's Head", the new full-length released just a few days ago. The result is a highly interesting read, with the Swedish master of the artful fringe loop allowing a rare close-up of his mindset and his workflow - check it out here!

While we were out partying hard with the Ableton crew, Hiroshi Watanabe aka Kaito talked to Native Instruments about his use of NI's omnipresent Maschine - you also get a rare glimpse of Kaito's studio set-up, Kompakt decal included! Watch it here (starting at 2:19) and don't miss out on Kaito's latest 12" offering "Behind My Life" which will be followed by an all new full-length end of this month!

If you have a look at BBC Radio 1's UK Top 40 Dance Charts, you'll be greeted by a slightly confusing amount of generic EDM compilations squashed in between offerings from platinum jetsetters David Guetta, Calvin Harris or Skrillex - whatever tickles your fancy, mate. But amidst all that deluge, we're quite surprised (and more than honored) to see The Field's new album "Cupid's Head" ranking on position 24... there goes the neighborhood! Check out the full album stream of "Cupid's Head" here, buy it here.

Recent Kompakt inductee Dave DK made quite a splash with his beautiful "Palmaille" EP and went on to give a taste of his DJ skills at our massive Berghain/Panorama Bar label night last month - now upping the ante of our Soundcloud with a formative recording of four hours worth of gauzy pop ambient, voluptuous techno and congeners. It's available in two parts: part 1 is to be found here, part 2 resides here!

Premiere time over at Electronic Beats: Berlin satirist dance analyst DENA of "Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools" fame has another cheeky slice of tracky bliss out in the open called "Guest List" - and it's coming with a sizzling COMA remix where they "snap the original's loose joints, strip the comedy vocals and stretch it out into a seven minute slice of slow-release dancefloor fodder". Listen to it here!
