Read: XLR8R interviews The Field Posted: 08 Oct 2013 11:14 AM PDT When Axel Willner came up with plans for a new The Field album, he was pretty adamant about not going through the same promotional treadmill that he had been with his critically lauded third longplayer "Looping State Of Mind". The long touring put a strain on him, as did everyday's life: "just the normal personal drama that everyone has in their lives. Nothing bigger than that. But (those emotions) can really fuck you over from time to time." All the more awesome then, that XLR8R was able to lure the volatile producer in front of their recording devices for an intimate interview about "Cupid's Head", the new full-length released just a few days ago. The result is a highly interesting read, with the Swedish master of the artful fringe loop allowing a rare close-up of his mindset and his workflow - check it out here!

The Field, Cupid’s Head House music for the ears, not the body Now on his fourth album, Sweden’s Axel Willner, aka The Field, occupies a unique niche in electronic music. He’s signed to techno label Kompakt, but his sound is informed as much by rock — the ear-bending, sensual feedback of My Bloody Valentine and the Jesus and Mary Chain, for instance — as electronic music; the only thing missing are lyrics, though his songs are full of carefully textured vocal samples.

Event: Westbam And Terranova Billed For Proud Icons At Weekend + Dates Posted: 19 Sep 2013 05:07 AM PDT Terranova will hit the road with a number of DJ performances scheduled throughout Europe and Asia over the coming months, starting with a show at Berlin's Weekend Club on Friday, October 18th where he's billed alongside Westbam. The two Berlin-based techno veterans will share the decks at the Proud Icons party along with Jonzon and more. From there, Terranova will play a further 9 dates that take him through to December, including two 20 Years Of Kompakt events at London's Fire and Vienna's Pratersauna. Check out the dates below.
