In 2013, Craig Connelly had one of the biggest tranace tracks of the year with his single ‘Black Hole‘. The track featured the lovely vocals of Christina Novelli and was featured in The Sound of Garuda Chapter 3, mixed by Ben Gold. The track also received an all-star make over treatment thanks to the incredible rising talent of Jorn van Deynhoven.
Now, with 2014 already underway, the DJ, producer, and head of A&R for Garuda, Craig Connelly is set to release his newest single ‘Decibels‘ upon the world. The track opens up with a very dark, underground electronic feel with an ominous chorus of strings flowing through the background under the distorted bass lines and pinging topline. Craig Connelly then moves into a ghostly orchestra concerto of strings, sending chills down your spine as the music flows through your body. The real magic occurs when Craig Connelly had the song open itself upon this almost chainsaw synth line that levels all other melodies in its waste.
There are just so many things right and perfect with ‘Decibels‘ that this is already one of our favorite tracks for 2014. The intensity, rhythm and unique perspective that Craig Connelly puts on this track is what is going to make ‘Decibels’ stand out among the rest. All other trance artists need to sit down and listen to what just happened. Craig Connelly will be releasing ‘Decibels‘ on Garuda January 20th.

      Deadmua5
In what has been a controversial start to the year for Deadmau5, it is great to finally see some good news. Deadmau5 yesterday took to his twitter to announce the completion of his latest artist album.
So far this year, Deadmau5 dealt with problems from a New Years Eve show with no alcohol, a promoter in Canada overcharging for ticket prices, and a club in Miami putting “trust fund kids” in the front crowd as they stood there on their cell phones. Pissed off, Deadmau5 said that he would not play Miami ever again, but after Space offered to do a free show for him and his fans, he looks like he will be traveling back over there.
While some details are still a little unclear on the album, what he did say is that it will be a 2-disc, 25 track album, that will feature 2-continuous mixes. Also Deadmau5 is very proud of it. Check out the tweets he posted about the album below.

Later on in January, people will be flocking to Park City, Utah, for the annual Sundance Film Festival. One of the biggest film festivals in the US, let alone the world, thousands of films have made their debut here. Now, one more will be added to the list as Pasquale Rotella had announced that his new EDC documentary, Under The Electric Sky, had been chosen as one of the 118 films to be shown at the festival. With Kaskade scoring the movie and Jason Bentley brought on as the Musical Director, everyone has high hopes for the movie.
But now it has been announced that dance music will have an even bigger role at Sundance this year. So far, 3 major performances have been announced to take over Park City. Kaskade is the first performance, with him and Skylar Grey taking the stage January 17th. Next, the lovely Australian-sister duo of NERVO will perform on the 20th, with trance legend Dash Berlin performing on the 23rd. Further announcements and performances are expected to be released closer to the festival.

Yesterday, Tritonal & Paris Blohm teamed up and released the music video for their track ‘Colors‘ that is set to be released on Protocol Recordings. But for the video, they decided to go in a different direction. Tritonal and Paris Blohm hit up their fans on their social media and had them take a video of them basically spinning around with the song playing in the background. Some special people make an appearance in the music video as well including Nicky Romero, his tour manager Sander, and another member of the Protocol family, Joric. It is fun to see Tritonal and Paris Blohm getting their fans more involved. Make sure to get your copy of Tritonal & Paris Blohm ‘Colors‘ feat. Sterling Fox when it is released next Monday.
