Burial - Rival Dealer EP
In theory, we know who Burial is. After the release of Untrue, his newfound crossover success prompted a brief glimpse of his identity. His name is Will Bevan and he's from South London. He stated, "I'm a lowkey person and I just want to make some tunes, nothing else". His career is scattered sparsely with interviews that make clear his desire to let the music stand for itself. Besides that, our idea of the individual behind a defining sound of the past decade is largely unknown. |

While Exile and Johaz have continued to share tracks that won’t be on their forthcoming E&J album, today we get our first taste of what the full-length will actually sound like. Enlisting Blu, Dag Savage’s “Don’t Stop” is a quirky, well-executed rap track that does a fine job of showcasing the wide range these three artists posses. Like Exile’s rap skills, which come through for a whimsical set of raps here on “Don’t Stop”. E&J is set to drop Feb. 4. |

Another day, another Soulection release. This time we are served with Da Rocinha 2, Sango‘s latest Internet release. And if you are at all familiar with this rising producer, than you already know what to expect. Crisp instrumentation that flexes an incredibly strong handle on vocal sample chops. Which is most evident on tracks like “Me dê Amor”. Stream and download the project below. Pete Rock, Lecrae & Rapsody – “Be Inspired” P. Khrysis

Real hip-hop is in the building! As the Jamla compilation gears up for a Jan. 28 release, the floodgates continue to reveal fresh tracks from the project. Like “Be Inspired”, the Pete Rock, Lecrae and Rapsody track, that features soulful production from Khrysis. Yes, that is Pete Rock on the lead verse and hook, who takes a back seat from the boards for once to allow Khrysis to get busy. Stream “Be Inspired” below. |

Back in 2013, Ro James released his 3-part EP Coke, Jack & Cadillacs. One of the standout cuts was the Asher Roth-assisted “Lisa”. While it was an unlikely collaboration, things seemed to work out for the single. Today we are served with the black and white visuals, which capture the dark love song’s essence quite perfectly. Watch the video below. |

With No
Poison No Paradise behind us, Black Milk is already looking to the future. Taking to Facebook, the Detroit artist revealed that he has a new project set to drop in March. Furthermore, it looks like we can expect new music from that project to drop in February. Details are fuzzy, but this is certainly a good sign for those who are craving more from Black Milk. |

Prefuse 73 and Teebs formed late last year to create Sons of the Morning. Their collaborative efforts birthed such stunning works as “The Way That Wind Moves Pt. 1″. And wish such a fantastic network of artists in this beat scene led by both Prefuse and Teebs, it was only a matter of time before their work started getting the remix treatment. Today we are hooked up with a brand new rendition of the aforementioned single by rising producer Co.fee. And for those of you unfamiliar with Coff.ee, he is part of the Los Angeles-based collective My Hollow Drum, and has released tunes on both Label Who and HW&W. In other news, Prefuse 73 is in the midst of the Yellow Year tour alongside Nosaj Thing and Falty DL. For those of you in the New York City area, you can catch them at Output in Brooklyn on Jan. 30. And from what we have heard from these three artist in recent past, it is sure to be a stellar performance. Full list of remaining tour dates are also listed below. Stream the Co.fee remix below. Tour Dates: 1/23/14 San Francisco at 1015 1/24/14 Los Angeles at Echoplex 1/25/14 Portland at Holocene 1/27/14 Austin at The Parish (No Nosaj Thing) 1/29/14 Denver at Cervantes 1/30/14 NYC at Output 1/31/14 Toronto at Hoxton 2/01/14 Chicago at Concord |

In a recent interview with HHDX, Party Supplies pulled the cover off of a rather exciting project they have been working on. Flying out to Los Angeles not long ago, the production duo went to work with Alchemist and Action Bronson on what is described as a “multi-genre, no label EP that may cross genres from Hip Hop to Electro to '80s Pop.” Sounds pretty damn cool if you ask me. Anyway, there aren’t many details as to when we might be able to expect such a project. But Jericho is certainly on our radar. |

With a new 7″ out now, Beat Culture unveils the lead single to his project called “Shibuya”. Built on a cascading instrumental, “Shibuya” is the perfect platform for singer KID A to spin together a web of lush vocals. And it serves as a lovely reminder that despite a lack of output from Beat Culture in 2013, 2014 is set to be a rather promising one for the producer. Stream “Shibuya” below. |

It has been a while since Com Truise dropped off some new original material, but the New Jersey producer breaks his silence today with “Subsonic”. Continuing on his path of synthesizer excellent, the new single is futuristic, schizophrenic and far more expansive than what we have heard from him in past years. And it sets the tone for Com’s forthcoming Wave 1 EP, which is set to drop Feb. 18 via Ghostly International.
