Dislocated is out today (June 28).
TT (fka Tobago Tracks) has released the debut EP from Swedish producer aircode. Described by the label as an “idiosyncratic club manifesto”, Dislocated features five murky compositions that blend skeletal percussion, fleeting snatches of vocals and weightless synths. Currently based in London, aircode has contributed various guest mixes to NTS Radio and recently performed in the Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall. TT has had a prolific year so far, releasing excellent projects from Iceboy Violet, 8ULENTINA, Organ Tapes and more. Dislocated is out now. Check out the artwork and tracklist below. Tracklist: 01. ‘You Broke Down Into Four And a Half Pieces’ 02. ‘Lipsill’ 03. ‘I Know My Life’ 04. ‘Reform’ 05. ‘When Its Said It Is’ Read next: Logos on the classic methods behind his genre-bending club and ambient experiments The post TT (fka Tobago Tracks) drops debut EP from Swedish producer aircode appeared first on FACT Magazine: Music News, New Music.. |

Mexican producer Siete Catorce dissolves club music in a psychedelic stew of influences from across the globe.
Born in Mexicali and raised in Oakland, California, Marco Polo Gutiérrez has been fucking with expectations and time signatures since 2012, not long after he and his family were deported and forced out of the USA, back to Mexico. Gutiérrez’s music reflects a duality – it is unmistakably Mexican and filled with rhythmic references to Latin music, yet pulls just as much from Oakland and its diverse set of characters, musical innovation and spirit. It’s tough music to pin down, from the wobbly, hypnotic bounce of Gutiérrez’s footwork-inspired 2013-released N.A.A.F.I. debut EP2 to the mind-expanding material alongside LA producer Amazondotcom on last year’s unmissable Teardropz EP. His FACT mix is a distillation of ideas Gutiérrez has been working on for the last few years, and he blends his own material with tracks from SUBREAL, the label he runs with Amazondotcom, exclusive remixes (including a stunning rework of Debit’s ‘Numbering’) and tracks from across the global dance continuum. It’s a bizarre ride, melting tempo, pitch and rhythm into a soup of dissonant ecstasy. Tracklist: 01. Siete Catorce – ???? 02. OMAAR – ‘Drumplate’ 03. Airmax ’97 – ‘Xhrinicibles’ ft. Loft (Siete Catorce edit) 04. Russell E.L. Butler – ‘Gulf Stream’ 05. DJ Plead – ‘Lee’s Shuffle’ 06. CNDSD – ‘T_01’ 07. Siete Catorce – ???? 08. Yilan – ‘Regression’ (Amazondotcom Remix) 09. Bergsonist – ‘Colonial Revolution’ 10. Domadana Kadodi Performers – ‘Recording Two’ (Lechuga Zafiro Remix) 11. Siete Catorce – ????? 12. El Irreal Vientiuno – ‘Colapso’ 13. Siete Catorce – ???? 14. The follow up to last year’s magnificent Organ Dirges 2016 – 2017.
Stockholm-based artist and organ tuner Kali Malone has debuted on iDEAL Recordings today (June 28) with a new album, The Sacrificial Code. The album sees Malone developing the experimental techniques she used to record last year’s magnificent Organ Dirges 2016 – 2017 (which we included in our list of the best albums of 2018), featuring a series of slow, emotive drone pieces for organ. Recorded using carefully placed close microphones, the compositions are presented without the big room reverberations usually associated with the instrument. Malone’s longtime friend and collaborator Ellen Arkbro contributes additional organ pieces to the record and Rashad Becker features on mastering duties. The Sacrificial Code arrives on June 28 and is available to pre-order now. Check out the cover art and tracklist below. Tracklist: 01. ‘Spectacle Of Ritual’ 02. ‘Sacrificial Code’ 03. ‘Rose Wreath Crown (For CW)’ 04. ‘Sacer Profanare’ 05. ‘Litanic Cloth Wrung’ 06. ‘Fifth Worship II’ 07. ‘Hagakyrka Bells’ 08. ‘Prelude ‘(CD/Digital Bonus) 09. ‘Sacrificial Code’ 10. ‘Glory Canon III’ (CD/Digital Bonus) Read next: Intonal 2019 – Exploring Sweden's musical landscape with Kali Malone, Rivet and more The post Kali Malone crafts two hours of minimalist organ drone on <em>The Sacrificial Code</em> appeared first on FACT Magazine: Music News, New Music.. |
