An eight-channel installation work  made up of recordings made on differing Serge Modular systems.
The latest work from experimental electronic composer Keith Fullerton Whitman is 15 years in the making.
STS (2019) was made partly in homage to speech-transformation works by artists such as Herbert Eimert and was recorded using differing Serge Modular systems at the Banff Centre for Arts & Creativity, the Columbia Computer Music Center, Elektronmusikstudion, the Groupe de Recherches Musicales, Harvard University Studio for Electro-Acoustic Composition, and Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio.

The sound experiment is the result of the “mapping of the frequency spectra of time-aligned formants to a catalog of full-range synthesizer signals”, blended with “fragments of speech, recitation, and extra-textual verbal communication”, and is just one of an infinite amount of outcomes.
STS (2019) is out on July 12 and is available to pre-order now. Check out the cover art and tracklist below.

Tracklist:
01. ‘STS: SYNTH, TRACT, SERGE’
02. ‘STS: SYNTH, TRACT, SOLILOQUY’
03. ‘STS: SYNTH, TRACT, SPEECH’
04. ‘STS: SYNTH, TRACT, SPEAKING’
05. ‘STS: SYNTH, TRACT, STYLE’
06. ‘STS: SYNTH, TRACT, SHORT-LIVED’

A fusion of contemporary Afrobeats and Afro-Lusophone sounds.
Taking inspiration from Afro-Lusophone music such as semba, Accra-based producer Gafacci combines the ancient sounds of Angola and Ghana with contemporary Afrobeats. We wanted to see what he could create with just 10 minutes in the studio, so this week’s episode of Against The Clock takes us to Ghana.
Gafacci’s Tash BNM EP is out on July 11 and available to pre-order now from Bandcamp.

Featuring vocal contributions from Vivian Wang, Laura Jean Englert, and Félicia Atkinson.
Jenny Hval is back with a new album. The Practice Of Love was inspired by Valie Export’s 1985 film of the same name and sees the Norwegian artist exploring the concept of love as a poetic and artistic process.
“Love, and the practice of love, has been deeply tied to the feeling of otherness”, explains Hval. “In the last few years I have wanted to take a closer look at the practice of otherness, this fragile performance, and how it can express love, intimacy, empathy and desire.”

Unlike her previous album Blood Bitch, which topped our list of the best albums of 2016, her latest project features a variety of collaborations with Vivian Wang, Laura Jean Englert and Félicia Atkinson all lending their voices to the record.
The Practice Of Love arrives on September 13 via Sacred Bones and is available to pre-order now. Check out the cover art and tracklist below.
