A modular composition from the West Coast synthesist.
Bana Haffar will debut on Touch later this month with Genera – Live at AB Salon, Brussels, a composition made using solely field recordings and modular synths. According to the label, Haffar began using synthesizers after many years playing electric bass and classical violin and Genera is in part an effort “to dismantle years of institutional conditioning in traditional systems of music theory and performance.” Genera – Live at AB Salon, Brussels arrives on July 26 and is available to pre-order now. A love letter to the St. Petersburg club Клуб.
Eurodance, trance, Copenhagen fast techno and ’90s Russian pop collide on Клуб Навсегда, the new EP from Danish producer Schacke. The title of the EP refers to the beloved (and recently closed) St. Petersburg club Клуб and was produced during a two-week residency the producer spent at the club in the summer of 2018. ‘Ты меня не ищи’ (‘Don’t Look For Me’), ‘Клубная тема’ (‘Klub Theme’) and ‘Кислотный пипл’ (‘Kisloty People’) all incorporate samples from ’90s Russian pop acts including Akula, t.A.T.u and Virus. Клуб Навсегда is out now on bore hole, the label arm of Клуб. Check out the cover art and tracklist below. Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VII Remake soundtracks are being collected on double-vinyl picture disc, available January 31, 2020, reports Japan Today. The double vinyl offering will be comprised of selected music from both the original Final Fantasy VII and the forthcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake, which arrives on March 2020.  One LP features a CG render of Final Fantasy VII character Cloud, while the second features a CG render of Cloud's Final Fantasy VII Remake look. The numerical pricing itself represents a fun nod the the Final Fantasy franchise's 7th instalment – offered for 7,777 yen through Japanese outlets, and 77.77 in North America.
