We don't think of Canada as having a festival culture in the same way Europe and the U.S. do. We're not as prone to take one of our precious weekends and spend it trekking to another city to watch seven straight hours of music. That said, there are more festivals in this country than we realized and, even more amazingly, they take place throughout all 12 months of the year.
Make a slightly belated New Year's resolution to see more live music in 2014, then use this as a guide to figure out where you're going to get the most bang for your musical buck.
