Artist: Jae Mann Release: Minerals Label: Kilamanjaro Music Genre: Hip Hop
Jae Mann’s debut EP sees him stride over grimey wordplay and soulful reminiscence with ease - ”The flow is unexplainable, it’s like I don’t need to breathe”. He blends together soulful Golden-Era Hip-Hop and rapid fire Grime artillery. Production from the venerable Teeza, Sivey, Myke Forte and Executive Producer Chemo. Features on SBTV to support the release.
Artist: Lucatwana Release: Bluestown Label: Bad Life Genre: Dance – House – Deep
The next act destined to join Brighton's prestigious alumni is Bad Life's new signing Lucatwana. There's little info on the mysterious duo, however from the accomplished nature of their super-contemporary house stylings, one could hazard a guess that they've done some pretty big stuff before. 'Bluestown' is super stylish, forward-thinking house music.
Following on his last two hit singles, ‘Virgo Cluster’ and ‘The Sky’s Gonna Break’, Smooth is back with his third album single from his debut LP ‘Leap of Faith’, due out in the Summer of 2014. Showing a darker side to his game, ‘Drone’ shows the versatility off Smooth’s productions with its hard-hitting, techy beats. On the flip side, Smooth teams up with his Telekinesis partner Markoman for a triplet banger with ‘Kronos’.
Artist: Neguim Beats Release: Sweet Life Label: Darker Than Wax Genre: R&B – Hip Hop
The trendy dance label, Darker Than Wax releases ‘Sweet Life’ by Neguim Beats. Typical sounds are tastefully woven together, resulting in an incredibly emotive and ambient soundscape. Shaking off expectations of the tropical, South American percussion based samples, he tastefully relives the omnipresent nostalgia of jazz – blithe stabs of keys and notes resonating with earthy, full-bodied snares. Neguim Beats evokes an innate connection with the listener, fast becoming an anomaly in the relationship between artistes and fans.
