      GTA Bola

2013 has seen Death to Genres rise to new heights. The Miami-based duo of Julio Mejia and Matt van Toth, better known as GTA, have had a year unlike any other. They have traveled the world touching almost every continent while on tour with Rihanna and Chris Lake to name a few. GTA has also had some massive releases with tracks like ‘Yolohton‘ and ‘The Crowd‘. Both tracks were released on Calvin Harris’ Fly Eye Records. Now, they have their final release out now on the label with ‘Bola’.
GTA have created a behemoth of a track with ‘Bola‘. The track features unrelenting beats, powerful basslines, switching between the sound of electro, moombahton, trap, and more. The rhythm of the song just busts through your body and forces you to dance and jump to the banging beat-pattern of the drums. GTA have showcased why they are one of the hottest names in 2013.
To help finish off the year, GTA will be traveling with Calvin Harris and Tiesto as part of their Greater Than Tour throughout the UK and Ireland. Make sure to check them out and get your copy of ‘Bola‘ today.

Johnny Yono & Mike Danis Release ‘Blast’ On Garuda
      Posted: 17 Dec 2013 01:08 PM PST

The track was originally premiered in Gareth Emery’s EDC Orlando set. Now, it is finally out. Rising stars Johnny Yono and Mike Danis have released their brand new collaboration ‘Blast‘ on Garuda. The track has already been supported by the likes of Gareth, Paul van Dyk and Morgan Page and it is easy to see why. What Johnny Yono and Mike Danis have created here is just a massive piece of music. ‘Blast‘ features a melodic synth topline, banging drums that really power the track and a warped bassline that just wraps you into the song. With so much energy and ferocity in this track, ‘Blast‘ is going to be blasting some speakers here very soon. This is a great follow up for Johnny Yono, who’s previous track ‘Exodus‘ blew up the trance charts and was a huge feature of many superstar DJs. You can get your copy of ‘Blast‘ from Johnny Yono and Mike Danis today.

In 2003, the British broadsheet newspaper The Guardian famously declared that ‘dance music was in terminal decline’. Citing the greed of superstar DJs and unimaginative, uninspired music as the reason fans were leaving the genre, it seemed at the time to be the lowest point for dance.
Yet out of these ashes rose some of the most seminal dance record labels of today — 2003 was the year in which Toolroom, Size, Cadenza, Ed Banger, Refune, Armada and Buzzin Fly were born. Despite emerging in the toughest year for the music industry, these labels survived and were eventually flourishing in 2013, ten years later
This documentary tells the story of this explosive decade.
A decade which saw the art of DJing and performance be transformed by new technology; the musical landscape change, diverge and constantly evolve; the genre being embraced and adopted by the USA through EDM, and finally react against this by going back to its roots.
Some of the biggest acts in dance music give their frank and honest opinions. Toolroom TV gets the unique, behind the scenes access to the likes of Steve Angello (Swedish House Mafia), Hardwell, Sub Focus and Loco Dice at their most candid.

This year, Tiesto received the Top 100 DJs Legend Award for all that he has done for the dance music scene throughout his years. But Tiesto shows no sign of slowing down and stopping. 2013 saw the man keep a constant tour schedule, blow out a bevy of new releases on his Musical Freedom label, release the third installment in the Club Life album series and make some incredible remixes while also doing a weekly radio show.
With 2013 almost over, Tiesto is going to make one last big splash to enter 2014 with a bang. On Friday, November 29th, Tiesto gave his friend Pete Tong the exclusive premiere of his brand new single ‘Red Light‘. Since then over 70 stations worldwide have played the track and people cannot stop talking about it. The beautiful blend of melodic harmonies, combined with the gritty, yet touching tone of the vocalist as he sings along, put together with the acoustic guitar riffs makes ‘Red Light’ stand out on its own.
With people at Ultra booing Avicii for fusing folk, live instruments and dance music in March, to be people embracing it and begging for more in December, it is amazing to see just how fast the music scene can change.
Red Light‘ is also going to be the first single off of Tiesto’s brand new studio album with expected release in 2014. Keep tuned for more information on the new album to come as it is released. Get your copy of ‘Red Light‘ today.
