Cologne's Ki imprint never ceases to surprise with deep, deep sounds coming from beyond the genre barrier. The label's latest feat is the "Holidays" 7" from upcoming dj/producer duo Colo, featuring a well-tempered remix from Christian Löffler on the flipside - it's the teaser for their debut album "UR" expected in Spring 2014. Yes, it's this time of the year - as Christmas approaches, everyone starts to plot his (or her) Best-Of lists, desperately trying to get ahead of a year packed to the brim with highlights. SPIN was one of the first out of the door with their 20 Best Dance Albums of 2013 and what can we say... we're quite proud that both Sano's eponymous debut full-length and Matias Aguayo's stunning "The Visitor" album made the cut. Two months ago, Michael Mayer joined Blond:ish and Walls for an extraordinary Boiler Room London session at Fire's gorgeous Lightbox. The recording from Michael's set is the first to surface (the rest is upcoming) and it's a beauty ranging from sizzling glitch funk to full-blown house operettas - Kompakt's label boss clearly proves why he's known as one of the very best DJs travelling the circuit today.
