It was at the beginning of May, that Thump may have conducted the worst interview I have ever read my entire life with Paul Oakenfold. If you are in the industry, you know that Paul has been doing this for so many years now, that all the questions are the same, so you do not waste it. But now, Major Lazer might have a close second. While at Lollapalooza Festival, Major Lazer stopped by the iHeartRadio Tent to do an interview with someone named Kennedy. Just by her outfit and glasses and name, you can tell this is going to go bad. In the first 30 seconds, you just want it to be over. How Major Lazer sat there for 6 1/2 minutes is besides me. But they have no problem telling it to her face when at the 5 minute mark she asks, “Who is the most annoying person you have ever worked with in the last 2 years?” Diplo has no hesitation and answers right away with “It has to be you.” And what does iHeartRadio do? Post it on YouTube to make it seem like Major Lazer is wrong. If iHeartRadio has any common sense, that girl will not be doing interviews ever again. |

Every time I hear someone say Coone, I think of Cartman from South Park and how his Super Hero persona was nicknamed “The Coone”. But now, that is all about to change. Dim Mak, who has brought some of the biggest beats so far with releases from Steve Aoki, Alvin Risk, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Keys & Krates and MING, is set to dive head first into a genre that is about to make some waves here in the US. Coone is an aspiring hardstyle DJ that is going to turn some heads and make some new fans with his brand new track ‘Times Gettin’ Hard‘. For the release, Dim Mak Records has teamed up with the notable hardstyle imprint Dirty Workz to release ‘Times Gettin’ Hard’. On the track, Coone features rapper K19 to offer a different take hardstyle genre. The track starts out massive with its ferocious kicks and intense basslines just screaming insane amount of energy set to radiate from the track. Then, Coone slows it all down and makes it very mellow and melodic for K19 to rap over the track, before building it back up again for that intensity to burst fourth. ‘Times Gettin’ Hard‘ is the fist single off of Coone’s new album set to be released later this fall. Keep an eye out as the track is available now. Buy Track Here |
