This past weekend, Los Angeles got hard with the annual HARD Summer music festival taking over downtown Los Angeles. Featuring artists like Tommy Trash, Dog Bloog, Duck Sauce, Empire of the Sun, Justice, Knife Party and more, it was a festival experience that people will remember for a lifetime.

On Saturday and Sunday, Los Angeles’ top dance music venue, Exchange LA, played home to the HARD Summer after party. Saturday was a night open to the public with HARD artists such as Bones, DESTRUCTO, ETC! ETC!, and Corey Enemy taking the stage to a packed crowd. Sunday, HARD Summer teamed up with the X Games to combine their official closing parties presented by Red Bull. Featuring artists from the show, athletes from all the different sports showcased at the X Games this weekend, and a group of lucky fans, Exchange LA was rocking till the break of dawn this morning, with their brand new fully in your face production.
Last night though, 2 DJs experienced something that most people never have to experience in their lifetime. Eats Everything and Justin Martin were 2 of the special guest DJs for last nights closing party, preparing to do a special back-to-back set. But their plans were temporarily halted.

On their way to the venue, leaving the hotel, Eats Everything and Justin Martin got trapped in the elevator they were riding. With a total of 16 people in the elevator, emergency services had to be contacted to help escort everyone out of the elevator one-by-one.
When arriving at the venue, Eats Everything and Justin Martin insisted on taking the stairs and not traveling in the Exchange LA elevator. Even though they experienced something completely insane, they still got on the stage and performed an incredible set together.

When Dirty South released his Speed of Life album, it changed the way that most people perceived dance music. Stepping away from what everyone else had been doing, and what everyone else still is, Dirty South created music that flowed together in a perpetual motion of euphoric melodies throughout our bodies system. Now, one of those tracks that perfectly illustrates that emotion, has a new music video. ‘Until The End‘ features the vocals of Joe Gil, and is one of my favorite tracks off of the album. The powerful progression of the song, mixed with the soft voice of Joe Gil, gives the feeling that everyone has experienced once in their life. Finding that true love. In the video, we reach a situation just like that. With 2 lovers out in the middle of a field having a little kickback with some friends, we feel the struggle, the emotion, the together, and the desperate between these 2 characters. While things take twist and turns, does it eventually have a happy ending? Watching this, you feel like Dirty South put you in the middle of a teenage romance movie. Find out what happens in the new video from Dirty South feat. Joe Gil for ‘Until The End‘.

Charity Strike Mantra EP

Charity Strike is the Los Angeles based duo of Mike Lisanti and Philip Scully. They have been teammates with each other in the music industry since April of 2012, when they started producing their own originals and remixes. Since then, the pair have come on to create a fan base that is ever-growing.

With their unique big room sound, Charity Strike is paving a name for themselves here in the dance music scene. Now, Charity Strike has released their brand new EP today. Entitled Mantra, the EP is being released on Club Cartel Records. We were lucky enough to catch up with the guys of Charity Strike to talk about the brand new Mantra EP, what it means to them, and what they want the fans to take away after listening to this release.
Q: What was the inspiration behind the new EP?
When we wrote the EP, we really wanted to incorporate a lot of different elements. We noticed a lot of big guys having are having a lot of control over their synths and bass samples, so we wanted to do the same.
Q: How were you planning on making it different from everything else that people have released upon the market right now?
We wanted it to have a dark and a bright side. Mantra symbolizes our darker and more downplayed side to production, and No Heart shows our ability to hit more of a commercial audience in the EDM world.
Q: What do you want fans to take away from it when they are finished listening to it?
Our main goal with all of our work is to get our fans to trust and believe in us. With the Mantra EP, we hope to build that aura around our name, which will bring people back for more.
Q: Were there any tracks that really stood out to you in this EP?
The first track, Mantra, is one that we like a lot, because it features more of simple and minimalistic touch, while still preserving that darker big room electro sound that we were going for. We also like this one because it was a transitional track in our sound development, that which made us strive for more simple and effective production techniques.
Q: What does Mantra mean to you?
In some traditions, mantras are used to liberate the mind. Music tends to have the same effect on people.
