As Gui Boratto presents his new 12" "Too Late" via Kompakt this week - a wonderfully pop-infused 12" hosting two magnetic floorbusters and an abundance of style -, vaunted music magazine Vibe sat down with the Brazilian producer icon to not only talk about his latest offering, but also his upcoming label D.O.C.: the name originally refers to quality assurance for food (Denominazione di Origene Conttrolata), but in this case, it's all about the music... Ingenious krautshock duo Walls return with their first new material since 2010's feted second album "Coracle": the double a-side "Urals / I Can't Give You Anything But Love"' sees them releasing on their Kompakt-distributed imprint Ecstatic for the first time, with a pair of mind-expanding dancefloor focused compositions that rank among the most intense pieces the band has ever recorded - imagine a clash between the heavy acid sound of Armando or DJ Pierre with the towering guitar squalls of My Bloody Valentine for the flipside's "I Can't Give You Anything But Love", and you start to get the idea. Meanwhile, "Urals" (also voted track of the week by The Guardian) creates a pulsating, hypnotic atmosphere through its trippy synth melodies, swirling guitar incantations and fizzing analogue drum machine percussion. Limited to 300 hand-stamped white label copies for the world, this will hit our shelves on July 29th... get a glimpse at the future of Walls' trademark future pop with this free stream of "Urals". Speaking of victory, did we mention that Ecstatic's first proper vinyl release, the brilliant (but completely sold-out) full-length "Umwelt" from Not Waving aka Alessio Natalizia, is also available as full-blown playlist on youtube?
