Roman Flügel to release double EP on Hypercolour

German producer Roman Flügel is linking up with Hypercolour to release a double EP called Monday Brain.

Flügel’s output in 2015 has included his Sliced Africa EP for Dial Records, as well as a track on the Dial 15th anniversary compilation. (Two of his solo albums have come through Dial, as well: Happiness Is Happening from a year ago, and 2011’s Fatty Folders.) Now he’s set for his first full release on London’s Hypercolour, following a remix of Martin Dawson and Glimpse back in 2012. Monday Brain comprises six tracks across two slabs of wax, described by the label as “highly polished techno and electronica [covering] a range of tempos and styles.” You can hear clips of lead track “Teenage Engineering” over at Hypercolour’s Bandcamp page.

Tracklist
A1 Teenage Engineering
B1 Make It Happen
B2 Man Sees The Face, God Sees The Heart
C1 Church Of Dork
C2 Picnic For Players
D1 Vegetarian Leather Jackets

Hypercolour will release Monday Brain on October 23rd, 2015.

Ida Engberg Helms Techno For Humanity Event In Aid of Syrian Refugees

idabwprofile

Ida Engberg and Antwerp promoter IKON have joined forces to launch Techno For Humanity, a charity event in aid of Syrian refugees.

The Swedish DJ took to Facebook and called for techno artists to help those whose lives have been thrown into chaos by the Middle Eastern crisis.

Engberg wrote: “We should be asking ourselves what we can do to help. A big techno charity event perhaps? I know a lot of artists (including myself of course) who would be more than happy to play for free for this cause.”

Within hours Engberg confirmed a plan was “in the making already!”. The result is Techno For Humanity, taking place at IKON Antwerp on September 17. The event features three rooms of music and will stream live on Be-at.tv.

Joining Engberg on the line up will be Adam Beyer, Davide Squillace, Matthias Tanzmann, Guti, Marc Houle, Heidi, Christian Smith, Yousef, Marco Faraone, RENEE, Tofke, Ugur Yurt, Raw District and Kapibaraf.

Anyone unable to attend the event can make donations online by buying a support ticket. Every visitor will receive a unique 3D printed souvenir.

The money generated by the event will be split equally between four charities: Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) International, providing emergency health services and clean drinking water; Migrant Offshore Aid Station, dedicated to preventing migrant deaths at sea; International Rescue Committee, improving living conditions by setting up camps; and the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), providing water, mosquito nets, tents, healthcare.

Listen to Sebastian Carter’s Remix of Daktyl’s “Cyclical” Ft. SPZRKT

The UK’s Sebastian Carter has been rolling through the year in perfect form, offering up a remix of Autograf’s “Dream” and now this new remix, among other releases. For this newest effort, he’s flipped Daktyl’s “Cyclical” into a smooth, vibe-heavy deep house jam, complete with a contrast of atmospheric melodies and bouncy grooves that complement SPZRKT’s soulful vocals. Stream Single from Midland’s Collaborative Project Akase

Screen-Shot-2015-09-08-at-1.55.23-PM

Producer Harry Agius (aka Midland) and vocalist/songwriter Robbie Redway formed their collaborative project Akase after meeting at Leeds University in London. Midland has gone on to become an international house and techno sensation over the past few years, but his work with Robbie Redway has enabled Agius to break away from his usual form of production and explore new sonic territories. After premiering its debut single, “Rust,” earlier this year, Akase has just released a stream of its second single, “Murmur.” Graspers,Akase’s debut album, will be released via !K7 later in the year. Both “Rust” and “Murmur” can be streamed below.

The “Murmur” single will be available on October 16 via !K7 and you can follow Akase on Soundcloud by going here.
