In May 2014, Havana Club invited a group of electronic artists from around the world to spend time in the Cuban capital recording original songs with local singers, rappers and musicians under the expert supervision of DJ-producer Gilles Peterson. The result is the album ‘Havana Cultura Mix – The Soundclash!’ released by Brownswood Recordings on October 27th 2014.

Few vocalists can claim to have worked with such a diverse array of musicians, a true testament of her capabilities, talent and versatilely, Fatima’s list of collaborators spans the likes of Floatings Points (inc the Ensemble), Shafiq Husayn (Sa-Ra), Dam Funk, Scratcha DVA, Dorian Concept, Funkineven, Ras G, VeebeO and Teebs to name but a few. Born in Stockholm, Sweden but currently residing East London, Fatima is a nomadic child of the cosmos, drawing upon life inspiration and energy in everything from LA Freeways, London basements and The Sea through to Earth Wind And Fire and the sky above. Hard to say because there’s been alot of special moments but I had a real amazing time playing at Unit in Tokyo and Jazzcafe in London, at Plastic People and at festivals in Croatia with my Eglo crew! Anywhere where there’s a magic atmosphere and good peoples. …has the best food? New York and LA so far …has the cutest boys / girls? New York, Mexico, Gambia got some cuties but there’s too many places to mention! …do you go to escape? anywhere under the sun or to my hometown Stockholm …do you most want to go?
