In May 2014, Havana Club invited a group of electronic artists from around the world to spend time in the Cuban capital recording original songs with local singers, rappers and musicians under the expert supervision of DJ-producer Gilles Peterson. The result is the album ‘Havana Cultura Mix – The Soundclash!’ released by Brownswood Recordings on October 27th 2014.

 Back in January, Bill Kouligas' PAN label first revealed plans to drop an EP from Berlin-based producer M.E.S.H. later in the year. Now, with M.E.S.H.'s Scythians EP officially due out next month, the five-track effort's first single is available to stream in full. read more   |

 Could a return to the stage be in the works? The inimitable Tom Waits has signed with an agent for the first time in more than two decades. Billboard reports that the William Morris Endeavor will represent the living legend in all areas. It may just be business minutiae, but Tom Waits hasn’t gigged regularly since 2008′s Glitter and Doom tour. However, he did perform at Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit concert late last year. Maybe it’s nothing, but maybe he’s prepping to return to the stage. We’ve seen stranger news this year.

Brownswood Bubbler alumni and Eglo Record’s stalwart Fatima releases the video for the fLako produced ‘La Neta’ as the latest edition in the campaign for the forthcoming debut album ‘Circle‘.
We enjoyed seeing another great video from Fatima as she seems to be making her way through the seasons with each one. This picturesque portrait of the snowy 5 boroughs of NYC compliments the development of the song and is a lovely contrast from her previous video for ‘Family‘ that displayed familiar landscapes of London in the depth of autumn along side what seems to be her family and friends. Enjoy!  |
