If he was, would he suggest pumpin’ out trippy, bass jams like this to her? That would be mad interesting, a different direction from her 30 year old signature sound. We’ll just have to wonder

Ras G – Imamu`s Time (Download) Posted: 10 Jan 2014 06:39 PM PST I read Leroi Jones aka Amiri Baraka’s 51 year old tome,  Blues People, in my African American music class and the history and socio-economics discussed have colored much of my musical ideology. His passing is poignant for many, including Cali beatmaker Ras G who happened to have an Amiri Barakaa album on the turntable when he heard he passed. Imamu`s Time is what he created in his honor.
