Ramson Badbonez

Artist: Ramson Badbonez
Release: A Year in the Life of Oscar the Slouch
Label: High Focus Records
Genre: Hip Hop – Alternative

After an extensive tour of the UK with his mentor Chester P earlier this year, UK Hip Hop legend and new High Focus Records signing, Ramson Badbonez is back with a new musical offering.
‘A Year In The Life of Oscar The Slouch’ is Ramson Badbonez’s second studio album. Few can pen a gutter street narrative as well as Badbonez, and on this opus he plays the role of the narrator taking us on a vivid journey through 365 days of the highs and lows of inner city crime life over the equally striking rhythms and melodies provided by Charlie Mac.
The album includes a star studded cast and counts Fliptrix, Rag n Bone Man, Jam Baxter, Mystro, Jokerstarr, Genesis Elijah and more as co stars, who all add their own twists and turns to the plot of this graphic tale. ‘A Year in the Life of Oscar the Slouch’ is available now.

The Front Bottoms - Talon of the Hawk

Artist: Various Artists
Release: Pellets and Droppings, Music is Dead Vol.2
Label: Howling Owl Records
Release Date: May 2013
Picked by: Dave Philpot – Head of Sync

Why Pellets and Dropping – Well why the hell not? We have distributed loads of great singles and albums this year from the likes of Holy Esque, Alela Diane, Sailor and I, New Navy, Fè, Dark Bells, Touch Sensitive and Emperor Yes to name but a few, but this collection from the Bristol DIY filth merchants Howling Owl stands above the rest. Their label night at the Great Escape showed that Rock n Roll is still still very much alive and that it seems to live in Bristol. No over sanitised Coldplay wannabe’s here, this is just kids writing great music and having a ball. From the grunge of Velcro Hooks, female indie pop of Galpals, bedroom lo fi genius of Oliver Wilde, this is one label to watch over the next few years. – Dave Philpot
