If only everybody could respond to getting dumped with a star-studded televised dance marathon. When Daft Punk cancelled their appearance on The Colbert Report , that's just what Stephen Colbert did.
The French duo pulled out shortly before the taping because of a conflict with a secret contract they had signed to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards.
During his show, Colbert said, "Apparently Daft Punk are going to make a surprise appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards. Don't tell anyone, because fun fact: no one told me until two hours ago."
Colbert's team flipped through his hefty Rolodex and rounded up stars from Matt Damon to Henry Kissinger to join him for a dance number set to Daft Punk's smash hit, "Get Lucky." Take a look.
