We're continuing the countdown of the albums that have shaped Gilles Peterson so far. The album this week is Adventures in Paradise by Minnie Ripperton.
Minnie Ripperton, what a voice. This album was released on Epic in 1975, just before Minnie was diagnosed with cancer. The title track, Adventures in Paradise was co-written by Joe Sample. A beautiful, sensitive, dreamy album with the infectious presence of an artist we didn’t have enough time to fully experience.
