Jay Prince‘s stock is steadily rising. It’s not that hard to see why – smooth production, even smoother hooks and an easy-going flow which if anything, sounds more American than UK. Not that that’s a criticism.
His breathless flow was first heard on his mixtape on Mellow Vation, and bears the hallmarks of hip-hop’s premier rapper King Kendrick, and it wouldn’t be entirely off the mark to suggest that Prince’s lyrical content reflects the conceptual storytelling present on Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. LA collective Soulection have been strong supporters of Prince’s sound for a while now, with one of their in-house producers IAMNOBODI behind the desk for Feel It, which you can check below. |
