Thousands of Sydney revellers in bucket hats and tie-dyed t-shirts see in 2015 with Salt-N-Pepa, Cashmere Cat and Alt-J
New Year’s Day is usually reserved for relaxing and recovering from the festivities of the night before. However, thousands kicked off 2015 in Sydney at music festival Field Day, where from midday people turned up looking something out of an alt-scene dream, with bucket hats galore, tie-dyed t-shirts, creepers, overalls and Miley Cyrus hairstyle all cementing their place in the summer style guide for the new year.
Charlotte OC were, arguably, the underrated act of the day, singer Charlotte O’Connor wooing the crowd with the appropriately titled Hangover. Her sound had just the right amount of electricity to warm up the crowds gathering on the grass. It’s worth noting this is the band’s first time touring Australia, and this month they’ll continue to open for Temper Trap.
