Covering any classic is always a gamble, taking an original track that in reality is the best it can be then adding your own influences and flavour can go either of 2 ways. Burt Bacharach’s composed Dionne Warwick classic is notched up into the noughties, The essence of the track is still very familiar with those lyrics wrapping around the listener and this version has added beats to beef it it ever so slightly. Noelle Scaggs of The Rebirth vocalises this perfectly and it is destined to be on my playlists for a long time to come. This us taken from The Decoders ‘Revisited and Reworked Vol 2‘ which is available for free download over on Bandcamp.
