We've known Madlib to do plenty of mixtapes with no track lists, but this is the first time a whole record of his own didn't have titles. Rock Konducta Vol. 1 LP has just been released, strictly on vinyl, the latest in the producer's long running "Beat Konducta" series. The album finds it’s inspiration in various worldwide underground rock scenes from the 1960s through the 80s: American psychedelia, Germany’s Krautrock, acid-soaked Spanish prog-rock and synthy, early-80s oddities. The full length Vol. 1-2 (along with track titles, we assume) will come out in Spring 2014. The sleeve is half high-gloss, half filthy, designed by Jeff Jank.
