Madlib and the record with no name

In the store Madlib - Rock Konducta Vol. 1 LP

We've known Madlib to do plenty of mixtapes with no track lists, but this is the first time a whole record of his own didn't have titles.

Rock Konducta Vol. 1 LP has just been released, strictly on vinyl, the latest in the producer's long running "Beat Konducta" series. The album finds it’s inspiration in various worldwide underground rock scenes from the 1960s through the 80s: American psychedelia, Germany’s Krautrock, acid-soaked Spanish prog-rock and synthy, early-80s oddities. The full length Vol. 1-2 (along with track titles, we assume) will come out in Spring 2014.

The sleeve is half high-gloss, half filthy, designed by Jeff Jank.

7 DAYS OF FUNK
  • November 05, 2013

Today, 7 Days of Funk (Dam-Funk and Snoopzilla) debut the first official music video “Faden Away,” from their forthcoming self-titled project, 7 Days of Funk.
Directed by Henry DeMaio, the visuals capture the performance of Snoopzilla (Snoop Dogg) and Dam-Funk rocking a hyped crowd at a Los Angeles underground party. Snoopzilla sports a Jehri-curl inspired by 80’s funk icons like Roger Troutman, Rick James and Uncle Jamm’s Army.  Dam-Funk lays down the funk with his instrument of choice – the shoulder synth aka “keytar”.
