The 20JK Pop Up Store Berlin rounds off its tightly packed program on Saturday, September 7th, - seize the moment and drop by! The final day of the store invites you to celebrate with some of Kompakt's cherished DJs and live acts performing: beginning at 16:00, it's the last hurrah for the pop-up store, and we’ve got a great line-up from our label in store. Label co-founder Michael Mayer starts things off with a DJ set - if you’ve heard Mayer’s "Immer" series of DJ mixes, then you know that his skilled selection is not to be missed. Following mainstream success in the 90s with legendary Whirlpool Productions (“From: Disco To: Disco”), Justus Köhncke has spent the last decade releasing top-tier house on Kompakt - expect a decidedly leftfield and highly engaging party vibe for his live set. Relative newcomers to the scene, COMA will close things out: their recent debut, "In Technicolor", sees the duo successfully bursting through club conventions for a diverse and jubilating sound. The in-store closing party will then progress to mighty Berghain/Panorama Bar, where an epic event including key players like Kölsch, John Tejada, Blond:ish, Rebolledo and more will raise many a roof... full info here! The Pop Up Store is located at Ableton HQ, Schönhauser Allee 6-7, Berlin, Germany - the space has a cap of 120 attendees, so please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

You clearly have enough reasons to drop by at Berghain/Panorama Bar this Saturday (what with all dem great Kompakt artists performing there... like Michael Mayer, Kölsch, Blond:ish, Rebolledo, John Tejada, Justus Köhncke), but now we'll give you one more: our very own Stocksaur DJ Team (featuring Denis Stockhausen & Jo Saurbier) are going to play an extended 8-hour DJ set at Berghain's garden on Sunday from 12:00 to 20:00. That's just how we are: we keep on giving and then some more. On the pic, you can see both mad hatters digging over the garden to prepare for their set... 'cos we like to get dirrrty! Dust Science affiliated Machinewerks have launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund their CS X51 USB/MIDI Control Surface, which was born out of The Black Dogs sheer frustration at not being able to find the Control Surface they wanted. "The CS X51 has a beautiful form and is made from materials that will last. There are enough features to give you the power and artistic control over your performance as well as fitting perfectly in your hand luggage. One of their main goals for the project is not only build the Machinewerks CS X51 in Sheffield, (UK) but also source and manufacture as much as possible in the UK. This may go against the grain for electronic equipment, but they believe that there’s a lot of talent in the UK. The Black Dog are obsessed by quality and believe the UK offers this with high quality components and construction of the highest possible standards." According to the Kickstarter page, funds raised will go towards the final stages of design, fabrication and manufacturing. The campaign ends October 5. Check out the Kickstarter campaign here.

Berliner Zeitung took the rare opportunity to interview Wolfgang Voigt about Kompakt's pop up store, his latest project "Zukunft Ohne Menschen" and the interdependencies between art and techno. Also note- and droolworthy: Kompakt's epic closing party at Berghain on Saturday, September 7th - the full line-up can be found here, the interview (in German) here.

It's only the third installment of annual Cologne art festival Strom, but it has already become a fixture for the city's art and music scene. Again, it presents a massive programm featuring all sorts of highly interesting projects, but we'd like to guide your attention to Gregor Schwellenbach who not only contributed a sound installation (an homage to Joseph Beuys), but will also perform live on Saturday, September 7th, at 21:30, with works by John Cage, Wolfgang Voigt and more. A bit later in the evening, our very own Shumi will take to the DJ decks, accompanied by Okinawa 69. More info here!

On September 7th, we will celebrate our 20th anniversary with a party in Berlin. After the 7-day pop-up store at the Ableton headquarters in Prenzlauer Berg, we will throw an epic event at mighty Berghain / Panorama Bar. The lineup includes veteran US producer John Tejada and Berlin favourite Dave DK playing in the main room, with support coming from Berghain residents. Tobias Thomas, Justus Köhncke, Kölsch and Rebolledo will be repping Panorama Bar with some true Cologne love, before Kompakt founding father Michael Mayer starts at 8 AM. On the 8th, we've got Techno duo Blond:ish and Kompakt regulars Stocksaur, spinning between 12.00 PM and 8 PM, with support from Ostgut Ton's Len Faki.
