It was only a question of time until somebody would come up with a DIY video for Rampa & Re.You's rework of Terranova's "Painkiller". One of the highlights of the "Painkiller Remixe" EP, this witty floor tonic features some rather unusual sound choices and the corporate ethos of a mad lab rat. Joyfully erratic in their appropriation of the original material, the two house anarchists of KEINEMUSIK fame cram all sorts of weird stuff into their trolling remix - including a live rattlesnake, as it seems. Dance, mothertrucker, dance... and don't forget to wear the most awesome "Painkiller" T-Shirt, while you're at it.

With their impressive full-length "B.O.A.T.S. (Based On A True Story)" on Life And Death, Clockwork's Federico Maccherone and Francesco Leali have proven their money's worth and now they're coming to town to rub it in - by assailing the Gewölbe on Saturday, September 14th, supported by Kompakt house pundit Jo Saurbier. A fine occasion for some deep pore shellacking, indeed! More info here... |

"The loop, the pattern, but also the wallpaper or the chequered table cloth fascinate and hypnotize me ever since I can remember. A good loop can run forever, it's like a mantra without a religion, it's acid without the chemicals." Always up for a quality quote, our very own Wolfgang Voigt received one of the very first VUT awards (coming from the "Verband Unabhängiger Musikunternehmen" - the association of German independent labels), besiders other winners like Modeselektor, City Slang et al. His is the special award for his artistic work and his role in the founding of Kompakt. It's a fitting closure to an exciting last week full of highlights - our Pop Up Store in Berlin, the big birthday bash at Berghain, but also a rare performance from Wolfgang Voigt at Boiler Room. Congrats and thanks! |

Berlin-based techno veteran Terranova just released a remixed version of his latest club anthem "Painkiller". Expertly cantillated by WhoMadeWho's Tomas Høffding aka Bonhomme, it was especially the title track that conquered the dancing crowd's hearts and minds with an enticing narrative of loss and hope. Now fitted with head-turning remixes by Michael Mayer, Rampa & Re.You and David Mayer, "Painkiller" radiates new pizzazz in three distinct versions sure to impress even the most unfazed of trainspotters. Also you've got to check out the last stock of übercool "Painkiller" t-shirts designed by Marc Brandenburg – only available here at Kompakt.fm!
