Yeah, the term “turnt up” isn’t my favorite thing to say, and it looks like Talib Kweli understands that sentiment. With a quick introduction to the song, Kweli describes the Prisoners of Conscious cut as one of his favorites to perform live. Thanks to Off the Record, Talib jumped in the studio to run through the song “Turnt Up” with a live band. And, as expected, it’s all sorts of funky.

abjo the art of refixing reprise AbJo Flips Lauryn Hill, James Blake & More On The Art of Refixing: The Reprise; Download It NowAs its title makes clear, The Art of Refixing: The Reprise is a sequel project for San Diego producer AbJo. The Potholes Music affiliate dropped the first installment in his Refixing series just this past July, but he’s already put together enough material for the follow-up. He’s provided his remixes of joints by James Blake, Q-Tip, Sango, and Ta-ku along with Lauryn Hill‘s hook on “If I Ruled The World”. You’ll also hear some original cuts on here, making this the very definition of a must-listen. Oh, and if you are looking for more original AbJo joints, be sure to listen to his Potholes Music EP, The Broken Synth Orchestra.

You are maybe aware of Ta-Ku‘s new album so we will just sum it up and give you some of our feelings from it. Songs To Break Up To is as you can see nice colletion of soulfull beats, full of emotions and live in it. Its not easy to break up, but when it happens you are kinda seeking for sad song that you can relate to with you inner feelings. This album is the right thing for that occasion – song by song is revealing break up process. Good music with soul is good for any occasion, for any time and for any person, who seek for answers in music. Listen.

The much beloved Ta-ku is back with a heavy club joint of Drake‘s infamous “Over” track. Bassy banger featuring Ta-ku’s signature way of chopping up the vocals to match the glitchy upbeat drumline. “Closet Drake Fans” is available for free download via Soundcloud by clicking HERE, stream the track in its entity below and make sure to follow and like Ta-ku on Twitter and Facebook.

    [DOWNLOAD] Ta-Ku – I Miss You

    Property of Gotta Dance Dirty

Following our Aussie-heavy takeover of Dim Mak Studios two nights ago, we’ve got another “mate” in our midst: Ta-Ku! After falling in love with Ta-Ku’s stuff when I first heard tracks like “When I Met You” and “Glacier” I’ve been keeping an eye and an ear on the veteran Australian producer. His edit of Flume and Cosmo’s Midnight have been very strong entities on the ‘free download’ front this year, and that doesn’t even begin to touch the amount of stuff he’s released and given away just in the past few months.

Next up for grabs is “I Miss You”… it’s a little bit sad and a little bit charming… overall it makes me really happy Soundcloud offers an open-ended option for artists to put a genre on the track, as this one being defined as “music to break up to” is simply perfect.
