This recording is part of an ongoing series with DJ and producer Mumdance. Each episode will see an artist, DJ or label owner sit down with Mumdance and discuss their influences and the wider world of music.
For the second episode, Mumdance meets New Zealand producer Fis to talk about the music scene south of the Equator, traditional instruments, his roots in drum ‘n’ bass and his performance at CTM Festival. Fis is one of those rare musicians whose music is incredibly hard to define, in the best possible manner, with releases on Tri Angle and Samurai Horo. Successfully blurring the lines between electronics and live instruments his tracks challenge concepts of 4/4 rhythms in a raw and surprising way. The post Mumdance in Conversation with Fis appeared first on BOILER ROOM. |
