On Monday 1 June, Leftfield treated fans to an exclusive play of their third album Alternative Light Source. Not a bad treat considering the legendary electronic act – now led solely by Neil Barnes – haven’t released an album since 1999’s Rhythm and Stealth.
For those who missed it, or for those seeking another fix, you can hear it again here on our exclusive album stream. It’s a pleasingly eclectic listen, helped along by an assortment of guest collaborators. Sleaford Mods turn up to rant about “chicken in a basket” over the surprisingly blissed out backing of Head and Shoulders. Elsewhere you can hear Poliça’s Channy Leaneagh and TV On The Radio’s Tunde Adebimpe add something special to the music.
